Samal Island can be reach in any ways. The island can be reach via plane, bus, taxi and any vehicles depending on where you from.
If you are from outside Mindanao or Philippines, Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City serves as the main gateway to Samal City. Davao City is just about one hour and forty five minutes travel from Manila and an hour from Cebu City.
From the airport, you can ride a taxi going to Sasa Wharf or Sta. Ana Wharf where you will ride a ferry or motorboat to take you to the Samal City.
If you are coming from any parts of Mindanao, Samal City can be reach by land using various bus lines which route includes Davao City. The bus stops at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal. From there, you can ride a taxi going to Sasa Wharf or Sta. Ana Wharf where you will ride a ferry or motorboat to take you to the Samal City.You can also bring your own vehicle which is more comfortable for you.
Sasa wharf and Sta. Ana wharf are two main motorboat and ferry terminal going to Samal City. But some of the resorts have their own ferryboats like Paradise Island Resort, Isla Reta, La Isla Bonita and many more.
From Sasa wharf the whole travel will just around ten minutes going to Babak wharf. However, from Sta. Ana wharf going to Talicud and Kaputian will take more or less one hour.
From the Babak wharf, there are many ways to go to your chosen destination. You can ride on the habal-habal
termed for motorcycle or a tricycle for just 15 pesos per person to any beaches within Babak area and a 50 pesos fare to any beaches in Peñaplata.
Going to any beaches in Kaputian, you can ride on the private transport vehicles of chosen beaches. You can also ride a tricycle with a for 75 pesos-150 pesos per head in any area in Kaputian.
